ABOUT
"One ply and no bidet? Fucked up."
Just a nervous little horse boy. Filone is a mechanic and film buff from Naples with far too many complexes for how simple of a person he is. He loves his mama, loves his twin brother, and generally occupies his life one day at a time. He's capable and pretty good at what he does, but his crippling anxiety around sex and relationships, along with an unfortunate tendency towards obliviousness, leads to him seeming far more socially inept than by rights he should be.
PERSONALITY
Impulsive and oblivious, one might expect Filone to be a wild creature that puts himself in trouble, but a stable foundation of stalwart will keeps him grounded through almost any hardship. He worries and frets, but rarely about the things that really matter, where he can manage to keep a cool head or, at least, fail to notice how bad things really are even as he focuses on solutions. Things flying over his head only seem to bolster his ability to keep his cool and good mood. He love horses despite only having a very abstract concept of what they are, and he never takes off his gloves. Of course other people find it weird, but he rarely notices this and rarer still is a time when he cares.
Where intimacy is concerned, however, Filone is a mess. He is terrified of overstepping boundaries and regards his own desires with disgust, even though he readily accepts more unusual fantasies and kinks from others. He takes his own loneliness for granted, itself a punishment for his own perceived inherent uncouthness and perversion. But even despite a largely disastrous love life, he abides. He's reliable and passionate about his interests and the people he cares for, and when the going get tough, his will can't be broken by even the most cruel or brutal external forces.
APPEARANCE
A 25-year-old Italian man with resting bitch face and a 5'10" lean build. He has straight black hair that reaches a bit past his shoulders and is parted in five places. He has two hair beads on each of his temples and long rectangular stud earrings, both in gold. His clothes are best summed up as "Cowboy Chic", consisting of cowprint gloves, a light blue long-sleeved shirt with ties on the forearms and chest exposing the midriff, flared beige pants with buttons down the inseams, brown loafers, and a nonfunctioning black leather belt.
DESIGN
「COMMON REACTION」
DESCRIPTION
A humanoid stand with armored segments on its waist and neck in lavender, and forearms/lower legs in black. It wears a cowl and loincloth in pink and has white spikes protruding from its head and shoulders.
BEHAVIOR
Common Reaction does not have a will of its own. However, if Filone is not actively controlling it, it will carry out his inner wants. This often manifests as affectionate behavior towards the nearest person, much to his chagrin.

BACKGROUND
PAST
Filone and his twin brother Asiago were born to a woman on the run, rushed into witness protection after the murder of her husband, their father, at the hands of the mafia. They never knew the details of their mother's past life or what exactly happened to make her a widow. But the mob's reach is far, and even without the knowledge that gave him most reason to hate them, Filone grew up resenting them all the same, for the decay in the local community that organized crime caused.
The twins were latchkey kids who stuck tightly together, working their way through bullying and school troubles and loneliness as they grew up. Their mother worked hard to support them both, which left them alone together pretty often and, in turn, this led to mischief and misadventure that a pair of otherwise-bored boys are bound to get caught up in. A mishap with shaving the neighbor's cat turned to a ban on razors in the house, which became a challenge of pain thresholds to see who could wax the most of his own hair off, which became a habit of going without body hair at all. Little patterns became big ones, and Filone moved through them all as though the turnpike were a single lane. A very unfortunate first stirring at the sight of a woman breastfeeding her baby became a botched attempt at confession, which in turn became an entirely self-inflicted miasma of shame surrounding sex and attraction, as well as a reluctance to return to church.
Filone majored in film while in college, hoping to go into cinematography as he hopped from job to job, finding much to his dismay that organized crime had spread its tendrils into the vast majority of places he worked. And at last, favoring stability over dreams that were, admittedly tenuous already, he poured his love of cars into a mechanic job, and there he's stayed since then.
PRESENT
Filone lives together with his brother, Asiago, and his mother, Rughetta, in the same house where he grew up. The three of them are, at last, in a pretty stable spot and all things considered, pretty happy. They all work, but Rughetta has finally had a chance to settle into a career as a novelist, and both her sons are glad to be able to support her. Filone, in particular, lives largely for his family and prides himself in what he's able to do to make them happy.
He's still, however, prone to mischief and likes to pickpocket from gangsters, where he picks up anything from cool knives to pocket money to the occasional little baggie of recreational drugs. (He'll take any weed he finds, but the harder stuff generally goes in the trash.) Little skills he's picked up, often involving light fingers and dexterity, would make him a valuable asset, but the resentment he feels at the injustice surrounding the mafia keeps him firmly at bitter odds with them, and every little theft is a petty revenge, done to be a nuisance as much as done for fun.
DIVINE COMEDY
Filone's bad habits have finally caught up with him as he's caught stealing from the wrong mobster's pocket. The boy he knew growing up, who had bullied him and who had asserted he'd become a gangster like his father before him, was a lot less full of shit than Filone always assumed. Filone and his twin brother are kidnapped and their punishment is far more personal than they could have ever expected.
RELATIONSHIPS
Filone would be lost without his twin brother, and he makes no secret about it. They're as close as can be and when together, all thought goes out the window and they become lovable dumbasses as only brothers who truly get along can.
"Mama's boy" is generally considered an insult, but it's a label Filone quietly wears with pride. He adores his mama and does whatever he can to make her happy. She alone gets to see his sweetness unfettered by machismo, and he's never been the least bit embarrassed about that.
Deceased father who died before he was born. Knows next to nothing about him.
Normally, Filone wouldn't give a childhood bully a second thought. If asked, he'd have to think to remember him, but once he does remember, ugly memories come flooding back. Filone isn't inclined to fear most people, least of all the likes of him, but that doesn't change the mutual hostility.
